2020 Essentials That Are Here To Stay

You used to live without them, now you can’t

We are all excited to leave 2020 in the rear-view mirror. With that being said, there are a few things I’ve become so dependent on this year I truly can’t imagine life without them. I would’ve never thought I’d reach a point in my life where these items became necessities but what’s more on brand with this year than another surprise? If there is one thing we should take into 2021 it’s this little list right here:

Fanny Pack

A fanny pack? The name itself is as unflattering as you would think a bulging sack around your waistline would be, but thanks to 2020, this little pouch has become a lifeline. A purse I don’t have to carry that can hold my sunglasses, wallet, keys, makeup, and leftover dinners? Sign me up.

Manicure Set

The first couple weeks of quarantine we thought we could make it without getting our bi-monthly manicure or pedicure… oh were we so wrong. They say 2020 is the year of picking up new hobbies and after almost a year of learning how to do our own nails, I know each of us could be hired at a salon without hesitation.

Yoga Mat

A simple object that has the ability to cure our mental stress and keep us physically active while we are trapped inside.

OKAY FINE. It’s an excuse to lay on the floor. And we will not part ways with it.

CBD Oil

Two-week lockdown? FINALLY a chance to relax. Ah yes, we were so naive back in March. Here we are 9 months later: we tried meditating, we tried yoga, we tried that nightly glass of wine… you just can’t get burnt out on a little oil that takes all your stress away. We will be pocketing this for the rest of our lives.

Topo Chico & Diet Coke

The dynamic duo. Our saving grace. Period.

Barefoot Dreams Nap Blanket

One thing we are very thankful for as we move into the new year…nap time! The last time I took as many naps as I have this year I think I was 10 months old, and just like I did when I was a baby, I now carry around my favorite blanket and will NOT sleep without it.

Plaid Flannel

The blanket with sleeves. The formal blanket, the socially accepted blanket. How do we make ourselves presentable while still staying comfy? The plaid flannel.

Lovely Bakeware Dishes

Everyone in the world learned how to bake during quarantine. It’s only a matter of time before people get competitive over who made the best baguette from scratch. What better way to one-up your opponent than with your presentation skills? Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra for that gorgeous dish.

Resistance Bands

I used to walk down the aisles of Target and stare at these things wondering what someone would ever do with them. Now they will never leave my side. What’s one thing you can do with a resistance band that you can’t do at the gym? Slip it on and side-step your way to the refrigerator.

Slippers

If they have hard soles on the bottom, they are meant to be worn to the grocery store.
