Favorite Trend of 2021: Color is In!

I prefer living in color
— David Hockney

There is nothing more impactful on our emotions than color. We all know how a rainy day affects us, we are immersed in shades of grey, clouds, darkness…the world feels dull and bleak. Everything changes when the skies clear, the sun comes out, and the flowers bloom; we feel calm and lively. After a year spent indoors, I think it’s safe to speak on behalf of everyone when I say never have we appreciated the outside world more than we do now. With this newfound gratitude, my favorite trend of 2021 has immersed: Color is in!

People are bringing the life they have missed from the pandemic into their interiors. It is so easy to conform to what is safe and accepted when it comes to expressing your personal style, and 2021 is saying to hell with that! Do what you need to do to make your world feel vibrant. If that means exploding a gaudy-yellow on a wall and slapping purple zebra print in every room, so be it. Just be sure to make your indoors reflect how you see the outside world.

If you are wanting to ease into adding bold splashes of color without being too reckless, here are a few tricks to get you started:

Throw Pillows

You don’t need to get a hot pink couch to add color to your living room. Dress up a neutral sofa with pops of your favorite hues.

Walls

Painting your walls can dramatically change the vibe of the entire room. If you’re not ready to switch up the furniture or decor, try one of these colors to instantly make your space feel warmer & brighter without over-doing it.

Statement Vases

Such a small detail that leaves such a big impact! Baby step your way to risky decorating and start with a bold statement vase.

Art Canvases

It is possible to keep a safe palette for your room and also add an artist’s touch. Choose something a little more daring for your walls to add some subtle intensity.

Accent Chairs

One piece of furniture in a stand-out color is enough to make an entire statement for the room. If you’re feeling extra fearless, try one with a pattern, too!
